The National University of Ostroh Academy is one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education in Ukraine. For the third year in a row, it tops the list of universities according to the ratio of entrants to vacant places. Every year the Academy extends the number of majors and the scopes of its activity, attracting applicants from all over Ukraine.   

The construction of a unique modern educational building of Ostroh Academy National University still continues. As planned, the new block will be situated in the center of Ostroh and will look onto the Square of Herasym and Meletii Smotrytskyi, with the monument to these cultural figures in the center.

The construction works started in the fall of 2007. The building is done by the company "Region" with participation of subcontractors. So far they have completed the demolition of the old unfinished building at the construction site. The take-down has been done due to the weakening of the previous structure. The builders have laid the foundation and continue working on the plinth of the building. They soon plan on building the ground floor. In general, the construction  is supposed to be finished in the period of 3 years.
