From 1 January 1999 it was separated off and the independent College of Law was established. To acquire practical skills, all students, except freshmen, take internships at the factories, courts, police and universities. The students of the College of Law have great possibilities to implement their theoretical knowledge into practice during the practical sessions and business games, including those held at the courts and police. Also students actively take part in the national and international conferences. The students of the College of Law founded the legal consulting office Pro Bono (For the sake of good). Its main aim is to give a possibility to practice jurisprudence, to give legal aid to people (including advisory service). Students conduct different trainings for the secondary school students in Ostroh and the district of Ostroh. The College always learns and implements new technologies and modern teaching methods. This is possible thanks to the international collaboration, business partners, project elaboration and participation in grants, in international teaching/learning programmes, internships in the universities of Europe, Canada and the USA. The students of the College always take part in international exchange programs, e.g. Ukraine-Canada-Poland, NetCorps, Canada-Ukraine Parliament Programme and others. Since 2001, the College has been hosting Annual National Conference The Problems of State Establishment and Protection of Human Rights in Ukraine. Six conferences have been held wthin the last few years. The last was on 28-29 April 2005. The students internship in Verkhovna Rada (the Parliament of Ukraine), Constitutional and Superior Economic Courts of Ukraine, State Security Service of Ukraine, police, custom and taxation service, Prosecutor General's Office, local administrative bodies, offices of lawyers and notaries, legal services of national and private owned enterprises and organizations. Scholars from Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Ivan Franko Lviv National University, Yaroslav Mudryi National Academy of Law (Kharkiv), Northern Illinois, Michigan, Krakow, and Bialystok universities do lectures at the College. The students of the College may use computer labs with the access to Liga-Law (the laws database system), the Centre of Criminalistics, the Court Room, and the Criminalistics Laboratory.
